Community Partners

The Learning Centre works in partnership with many community groups and service providers.  We support a number of training providers to provide onsite work experience and work placement for those entering areas within the educational landscape, such as Education Assistants, trainee teachers, therapists, school psychologists.

We also support work experience programs for local high school students who are interested in being part of the education system.

We have recently begun a partnership with the Department of Community Services and Yangebup Family Centre to provide a Pre-Kindy Transition Programme for children diagnosed or awaiting a disability diagnosis.

This partnership brokered by Connecting Community for Kids runs during terms 3 & 4 and provides our Pre-K kids with a sensory/language-based introduction to kindy and provides families with valuable connection to the school as well as establishing social networks.

We hope to continue this program each year.

The Centre also participates in research with local universities to further assist in the education of students with high support needs and disability.
